Privacy Policy (English)
HY Academy ("the Academy", "we", "us") respects and protects your personal information. This Privacy Policy applies to the HYAcademy mobile app (iOS / Android) and our online service platform (app.hyacademy.ca) (together, "the Service"). By using the Service you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to this policy.
1. Information We Collect

2. Payment Information
Account top-ups are processed by AlphaPay, a licensed third-party payment provider. Your card numbers or wallet credentials are handled directly by the payment provider — we never store any payment card information. We only keep the transaction amount, time and order status for reconciliation.
3. Sharing of Information
We share the minimum necessary information only with the following categories of service providers, solely to operate the Service:
- Payment processing: AlphaPay (top-up transactions);
- Push notifications: Expo push service (delivering class reminders and notices);
- SMS delivery: SMS providers (sign-in verification codes).
Beyond the above, we do not disclose your personal information to any third party unless required by law or with your explicit consent.
4. Storage and Retention
Your personal information is stored on servers located in Canada or otherwise compliant with Canadian privacy laws (including PIPEDA), and retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Transaction and billing records are retained for the period required by Canadian tax regulations. All data is transmitted over HTTPS encryption.
5. Your Rights
- Access & correction: you can view and edit your profile in the app;
- Account deletion: you can initiate deletion in the app via "Settings → Delete Account", or submit a request to [email protected]. Upon deletion your personally identifiable information will be erased or anonymized, except for billing records we are legally required to retain;
- Push notifications: you may turn off notifications in your system settings at any time without affecting other features.
6. Minors
The Service is intended for enrolled students and teaching staff of the Academy. Accounts for minor students should be registered and managed by a parent or guardian; we process minors' information only as necessary to deliver our teaching services.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you via in-app notice or an announcement on our website. The updated policy takes effect on the date of publication.
